Oral health concerns affect everyone, without exception – young, old, rich or poor – all of us need to take good care of our teeth or our dentures, as the case may be. In fact, even famous celebrities have dental woes.
This fact was proven beyond a doubt this year by popular Canadian singer Michael Buble.
In May, while performing in Sydney, Australia, Buble accidentally knocked out a tooth with his microphone during the second song in his concert! To his credit, he was somehow able to continue performing and actually finished the entire concert with a missing tooth. Afterward, Buble underwent emergency dental surgery to repair the damage. Displaying a positive attitude despite the accident, Buble posted a picture of himself online in the dentist’s chair awaiting surgery. He later finished his Australian tour with no other mishaps.
But unfortunately for Buble, the Australian incident wasn’t the last dental emergency he would have to endure. A short two months later, while visiting Manchester, New Hampshire, for a concert performance there, Buble cracked a crown while trying to open a packet of ketchup with his teeth. Fortunately, he was able to find a local dentist who repaired the tooth. As a show of his gratitude, Buble gave the dentist two front-row tickets to his performance.
We can take away two lessons from this story: 1) No one is immune from dental problems; and 2) whatever you do, don’t use your teeth as a tool!
